Getting Closer To Jesus

1. The passage begins with the Lord’s loving admonition: “Let not your hearts be troubled.” We should not be surprised that the Disciples were troubled. Why not?


2. How did Jesus calm their troubled hearts? What wonderful assurances did He give to them? If you are a believer these assurances are for you too.


3. Notice the question of Thomas in verse 5. It reveals his keen desire to be with Jesus. The Lord made it very clear to him and to all who want to go to Heaven. Discuss the “one way salvation”. Doesn’t this wipe away any other proposed way to Heaven?


4. Jesus speaks of knowing Him and knowing the Father. Thus, He speaks of a deeper “relationship” with Him, a deeper communion. How can we develop this relationship? It certainly is different than sterile and ceremonial religion. Jesus calls us to a deeply personal walk with Him
