1. For Israel, they were confronted with the truth that this “day of the Lord” meant judgement for THEM, not just “other nations.” For those who are redeemed and forgiven, what do we gain by considering the Lords’ justice and judgement – and how does that apply to me?
2. If your opportunity for worship was taken away, would your joy and gladness go with it? How does this idea encourage or challenge you?
3. Read Ps. 46:1, 7, 11; 62:6, 7; 91:2, 9, 10. John 16:32. 2 Tim. 4:17. Ps. 16:5; 73:26; 119:57. La. 3:24. List out some specific encouragements Scripture gives us for times of trouble.
4. Do you think it’s accurate to say we only have two choices in regard to our responses to life – to turn TOWARDS God or to turn AWAY from God? What are the implications of this?
